Poetry Magic

Jojo is a Canadian poet and author from Ottawa who considers poetry a form of alchemy.

The Crumbling Tower Of My Life is her debut poetry collection. This project is a labour of love and a journey through healing after a complete upheaval of her life as she knew it. This book was written in tandem with all the messy feelings felt along the path towards rebirth. Healing is unhinged and it’s about time someone wrote about it more open and honestly. Jojo doesn’t claim to know the answers; she seeks for meaning with the rest of us.

Until recent years poetry was an aspect of her creative side that was incredibly personal. Like most of her creations, her poetry is freeform as it is written in free verse or prose. Poetry is one of the ways Jojo heals through life and it is now one of the ways she wishes to connect with others. She writes about it all because she can feel it all. The hopes, dreams, insecurities, struggles, pain, darkness, the love that surrounds us, universal magic and both the beauty and horror found within the cracks of it all. This is a magical connection of its own to humanity, spirit, thought and emotion.

Poetry Writing as Connection

I recently fell into writing on the fly poetry for strangers at events or in public spaces. This has quickly become one of the most meaningful things I have ever done. There is something sacred about sitting with another human being, tuning into their energy, and turning their inner world into words they can hold onto forever. This is why I created the Feelings Layover Project. The concept is simple: You share as little or as much as you want. I listen, then write. A unique poem tailored to each individual is born typically within 5-7 minutes. My poetry is not just written, it is felt. Each piece is created in the moment, inspired by the person in front of me and all the emotions, memories and truths they carry within them. For me, this is more than poetry. It is more than writing. It is connection, reflection, and emotional alchemy.

This is one of my favourite ways to make magical connections with other souls. I provide intuitive tarot readings that connect you to your higher power and deeper purpose. As an empath I aim to tell you what I sense genuinely and gently. My readings centre upon personal growth and self development. In my readings, I may use other tools along with my tarot cards. (Oracle cards, Runes, pendulum, dowsing rods, charms)

Feeling seen via Energy Healing

I am also an intuitive Aura reader and Chakra energy healer. Visions of Aura colours are seen clearly by my third eye when I connect to people’s energy. I can also align + balance energy centres. I do this through intentional focus, visualisation and Reiki energy.

Art Magic

To appease my mind, I turned to art and spirituality. I try to combine the two in my work. Painting intuitively lets me be guided by the vivid visions of colour I see as I meditate. Painting according to the emotions I feel lets me explore many facets of myself and the human condition. Pablo Picasso once said: “Painting is just another way of keeping a diary”. I couldn’t agree more.

Crystal Magic

I studied Gemology and Jewellery Appraisal in 2018 and I am a certified RGA. I have a passion for gemstones. This, along with my creative nature, led me to making gemstone jewelry. The metaphysics also play a part as I choose stones with properties that compliment each other to build each item into a talisman for manifestation.
