A little about my bespoke poetry

Lately, I have found myself stepping into something that feels less like a new venture and more like a remembering. Writing poetry for strangers has opened a doorway that feels deeply aligned, almost inevitable. It is not just about words on paper, it is about meeting someone in the quiet, unseen spaces within them and giving those spaces a voice.

There is something powerful about sitting with a person, even briefly, and feeling into who they are beneath the surface. My instant poetry offering is exactly that. A moment of connection where I tune into someone’s energy, their emotions, the stories they may not even have language for yet, and translate it all into a piece of writing created just for them, in real time. It becomes a mirror, a release, a validation, sometimes even a soft unraveling.

What makes this feel so natural for me is the way I have always navigated the world. My intuitive senses, my experience with tarot, and my deep empathy allow me to read between the lines of what is said and unsaid. I do not just hear people, I feel them. I sense patterns, emotions, and undercurrents, and poetry becomes the vessel through which I bring those things to the surface in a way that feels gentle, honest, and deeply personal.

This work is not about performance. It is about presence. It is about offering someone the experience of being truly seen, even if only for a few minutes, and leaving them with something tangible that says, “this is you, and you are allowed to feel all of it.”

Until recent years poetry was an aspect of my creative side that was incredibly personal. Like most of my creations, my poetry is freeform as it is written in free verse or prose. It always addresses strong emotions and the realities of life. Poetry is one of the ways I cope with life and it is now one of the ways I wish to connect with others. I can write for you about anything at all! Think hopes, dreams, insecurities, struggles, pain, the love that surrounds us, universal magic and the beauty within the cracks of it all. Literally, give me anything. I will turn it into gold worth shedding a tear over. This is a magical connection of its own to humanity, spirit, thought and emotion. About my debut poetry book

The Crumbling Tower of My Life is a resounding and moving collection of deeply felt poems. Found within this outpouring of soul are echoes of both hope and hopelessness. Fears are personified, given an identity, and addressed out in the open. This book is a journey through healing, written in tandem with the emotions experienced along the way. It takes you on a ride from a life-shattering ending towards a journey of rebirth.

Vulnerability is capable of holding immense beauty and space for a collective to form, even within its breakdown.

This book is an attempt to make tangible the anguish of coping poorly with lost love. It explores all stages of hurt, as well as the overwhelming nature of all the possibilities ahead that remain unknown. It serves as a reminder of the massive mess of love you can gain if you learn to open your heart to it. It is a genuine telling of horrid beauty and a raw expression of the human experience. The journey starts within, and the fight for rebuilding is a worthy one.

A personal word from the Author

I am a professional Tarot reader and the title and theme of the book is heavily based on The Tower Major Arcana Card. The Tower cards speaks of unexpected destruction, complete upheaval and trauma based healing. It is ultimately a card of rebirth and strength. It is having no choice but to choose yourself and start over.

My book The Crumbling Tower of my Life follows along through a journey of recovery from destruction to rebirth. It is for the outcasts, the weirdos, the empaths, the lover girls and lover boys, the ones who feel so strongly and just want to feel heard, seen and understood.

The book has light hearted nods to pop culture throughout which I find adds a touch of whimsy, comfort and nostalgia to the entire feel of the book. I have done this because although it is sad, deeper and darker in material… It can also be looked at as light-hearted, joyful and meaningful. There is a duality to everything. The road has been difficult but it was so incredibly needed. It was painful but it has ultimately led me towards so much peace and joy. This is my attempt to highlight the paradoxical nature of the lives we lead.

In my humble opinion, humanity itself is the most beautiful and special human quality. We all have the capacity to be so raw, so vulnerable, so open. We hold back out of fear and egotistical principles. But I never will. I will always seek to be as purely raw and vulnerable as I can in my writing. I will speak on what hurts the most to speak on because that is where the healing work resides.

My goal is to transmute these darker feelings into light by speaking them aloud. I wish to extend a hand to all other beings who have gone through similar turmoil or experiences and allow them to feel as though there can be a way out. I hope my book can help others. I have always written poetry with this intention. I wish my book to be a form of support. I have always been a “helper” archetype. My identity as an author is no different.

Gemini’s Love to Talk

Navigating Mental Health

Ironically, being a Gemini, Jojo also struggles with bipolar disorder. She feels she is both blessed and cursed with a mental illness that carries the energy of duality. In her Poetry Magic she talks a lot of the polarizing effects felt within sufferers of the condition. There will always be ups and downs in anybody’s life. Sufferers of bipolar however experience these ups and downs very prominently, whole heartedly and painfully. They hit the extremes of either end of the polarizing scale of pain and beauty, sadness and joy. They experience these emotions close together and sometimes with no cause and effect leading up to it. This has always caused Jojo a lot of turmoil and she has had difficulty in the past accepting this fate as her own.

The Journey Ahead

More recently Jojo has been able to make peace with this condition. Even better, she had embraced it for what it is. The good and the bad. There is beauty in the joyous madness of mania and there is beauty in the solemn silence of depression. She chooses to look at it as a super power where she gets to experience all facets of life and emotions. Even the hard parts. This has allowed her to learn vital universal truths from a young age and connect to spirit more completely. Her Poetry Magic writings are her way to share these lessons with others. Sometimes it takes making friends with darkness to truly appreciate the glimpses of light.

A Blessing in Disguise

Jojo now feels blessed and is grateful to feel everything so strongly. She has been given the gift of fluid emotion and reflection. Mental illness both forces and allows the sufferer to face things they typically would choose to avoid. When not given the option of avoidance, knowledge is gained. This inevitably brings about growth, peace of mind and understanding.
